Egyptian, French Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Issues and Bilateral Cooperation

Doha: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aatty held a phone call Thursday with his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot to discuss the latest regional developments and ways to strengthen relations between the two countries. During the call, the two ministers focused on the situation in Gaza, efforts to sustain a ceasefire in the Strip, and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Foreign Minister expressed interest in hosting the International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction in Gaza following the establishment of a ceasefire. He emphasized the need for the international community to take responsibility in halting Israeli aggression on Gaza and the West Bank. Additionally, he highlighted the severe situation in the West Bank, pointing out ongoing military incursions, arrests, and settlement expansions, and stressed the importance of a just resolution to the Palestinian issue through the two-state solution.

Regarding the Iranian file, both ministers agreed on the importance of Israel and Iran committing to a ceasefire. They discussed the need for regional and international efforts to stabilize the agreement, aiming to de-escalate tensions and open diplomatic avenues for regional security and stability.
