Egyptian and Turkish Foreign Ministers Strategize on Gaza Reconstruction Efforts

Cairo: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Badr Abdelatty and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, engaged in a telephonic conversation to discuss the forthcoming actions of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee. Their discussions focused on garnering international backing for the Arab-Islamic initiative aimed at early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the ministers addressed the situation in the Gaza Strip following the ongoing humanitarian crisis and Israeli military actions. Dr. Abdelatty informed Fidan about Egypt’s collaborative efforts with Qatar and the United States to reinstate the ceasefire, facilitate the release of hostages and prisoners, and ensure the seamless delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Dr. Abdelatty also provided Fidan with updates on the preparations for the Cairo International Conference for the Reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which is expected to take place once a ceasefire agreement is reached.

In addition to their focus on Gaza, both ministers opposed any efforts to displace Palestinians and emphasized the necessity of achieving a fair political solution through the two-state framework, establishing a Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The conversation also covered Libya’s current situation, where Dr. Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s commitment to supporting Libyan national institutions and safeguarding the country’s unity. He stressed the importance of Libyan-led political processes and the need for simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections at the earliest opportunity.
