Zelenskyy Hopes Pressure on Russia Yields Peace

Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that Russia would be put under significant pressure by autumn to agree to end the war. Speaking at a meeting with Ukrainian ambassadors, Zelenskyy said that it is impossible to predict when that would happen. He added that Ukrainian airstrikes using medium and long-range drones, international sanctions, and diplomatic efforts must work together to leave Russia with no alternative to peace.

According to Qatar News Agency, Zelenskyy emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, "We will try very hard to make this happen before winter, in the autumn." Despite the ongoing efforts, after four years of military operations, there are no signs that the Kremlin is backing down from its war goals, he added.
