Wifaq Concludes Premarital Qualification Program to Promote Stability of Emerging Families

Doha: Family Consulting Center (Wifaq), one of the centers operating under the Qatar Social Work Foundation, has concluded the 43rd edition of its premarital qualification program. This initiative is part of Wifaq’s ongoing efforts to empower young men and women to build stable marriages and enhance family awareness through scientific and practical preparation before marriage.

According to Qatar News Agency, the program was held over three consecutive days and brought together a number of engaged and newly married participants of both genders. These participants received intensive training across legal, psychological, social, and health-related fields. The sessions aimed to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to embark on married life with greater awareness and deeper compatibility, utilizing a blend of theoretical content and practical applications delivered by a team of specialists.

In a statement, Wifaq stressed that the program reflects its commitment to launching innovative initiatives that support the stability of emerging families and reduce early marital disputes. This is achieved by fostering values of compassion, affection, and positive partnership between spouses. The Center emphasized that the regular implementation of such programs is crucial to its vision of strengthening family cohesion and promoting societal stability by empowering young couples with the necessary awareness, knowledge, and skills to face challenges with confidence and responsibility.

Wifaq also continues to deliver the national program ‘First Year of Marriage’, supported by the Social and Sport Contribution Fund. This program reaffirms Wifaq’s pioneering role in promoting family stability and preparing both engaged couples and newlyweds. It seeks to provide participants with the skills and knowledge that assist them in making sound marital choices, developing communication and dialogue skills, and building solid marital relationships based on compassion and mutual respect. The program covers key themes including family values, coping with challenges in the first year of marriage, and strategies for mutual understanding, all of which contribute to building stable and cohesive families.
