New york: Major stock indices on Wall Street closed higher at the end of trading today.

According to Qatar News Agency, the S and P 500 index rose 35.32 points, or 0.56 percent, to close at 6,299.02. The Nasdaq Composite Index also saw an increase, rising 157.25 points, or 0.76 percent, to reach 20,887.74 points at the close of trading. Additionally, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 247.64 points, or 0.56 percent, to close at 44,502.42.
