The US Federal Reserve Board held rates steady on Wednesday. It was the first pause for the Fed since it started hiking rates in March 2022.
Suspension of increase in interest rates comes after 10 consecutive times reaching 5 percentage points in total which raised the key interest rate to a level between 5 percent and 5.25 percent, the highest level since 2007.
Meanwhile, US Federal Reserve Board’s monetary policy committee decided to maintain prices of interest rates unchanged to be consistent with annual inflations’ projections in the United States whose pace has decelerated during last May to reach 4 percent compared to projections of 4.1 percent.
