Washington: The US Federal Reserve has kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged, maintaining the overnight lending rate in a range of 3.50 percent to 3.75 percent.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Federal Open Market Committee voted unanimously to hold the rate steady, the level it has been at since the last rate cut in late 2015. The committee affirmed that economic activity is expanding at a solid pace despite uncertainty related to the conflict in the Middle East.
