GAZA: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has issued a stark warning about the escalating risk of famine in the Gaza Strip. The region is grappling with severe food insecurity and a lack of humanitarian aid amidst the ongoing conflict with Israel.

According to Qatar News Agency, UNRWA highlighted in a series of posts on the platform X that their teams are making concerted efforts to deliver aid to those in dire need. However, the agency emphasized that these efforts are insufficient to meet the overwhelming needs, as Gaza's residents are experiencing acute food shortages.

UNRWA called for urgent international cooperation and a ceasefire to facilitate the delivery of life-saving assistance to the area. The agency warned that famine is imminent if the situation does not improve.

The blockade imposed by Israel has exacerbated the crisis, particularly in the northern governorate of the Gaza Strip. The blockade is part of a sustained campaign that has led to widespread starvation, with the intent of displacing Palestinians to the south, according to UNRWA's statements.
