Washington: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with US President Donald Trump during his visit to the United States to discuss a potential revival of diplomatic efforts with Russia and other strategic collaborations.
According to Qatar News Agency, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the meeting was both positive and productive. Zelensky expressed satisfaction with the discussions, highlighting the focus on reactivating the diplomatic dialogue with Russia and addressing strategic defense cooperation, particularly concerning production licenses for Patriot air defense systems.
Zelensky shared on social media that the meeting included talks on the production of Patriot interceptors and other strategic initiatives to counter the ongoing Russian military operation in Ukraine. The operation has been ongoing since early 2022, and both leaders emphasized the importance of diplomatic engagements in addressing the situation.
Additionally, Zelensky expressed gratitude to the United States for its unwavering support. He assured that both his team and the US president's team are committed to detailing their future communications and collaborations in the subsequent phases.
