Doha: In an editorial, Al-Raya newspaper highlighted the visit of HH President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to Doha. During his visit, he engaged in discussions with HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, emphasizing the positive relations between the two countries. This visit aimed to strengthen bilateral ties and promote cooperation within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), contributing to regional security and stability.
According to Qatar News Agency, the UAE President reiterated his country’s support for Qatar following a recent attack on its territory. He affirmed the UAE’s solidarity with Qatar and its support for any measures taken to preserve its sovereignty and security. He also commended HH the Amir’s role in facilitating the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel.
The editorial described the meeting between HH the Amir and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed as a valuable opportunity to exchange views on regional and international issues, particularly concerning the Middle East’s current situation after the Iran-Israel ceasefire agreement.
Al-Raya concluded by emphasizing the necessity of dialogue and diplomatic solutions to address the region’s crises and ensure both regional and global security.
The Peninsula, an English-language newspaper, reported that Qatar received widespread international support following Iran’s missile strikes on Qatar’s Al-Udeid air base on June 23. The paper noted that the Qatari Armed Forces successfully intercepted all missiles, ensuring no damage on the ground and maintaining normalcy in public life and business.
HH the Amir praised the Qatari Armed Forces for their preparedness and efficiency during a visit to the Joint Operations Command. He expressed gratitude to military and security personnel and was briefed on the successful interception of the missile attack.
The Peninsula also mentioned the global support Qatar received, with calls and messages from world leaders condemning the attack and expressing solidarity with Qatar. The Ministerial Council highlighted the Qatari Armed Forces’ capabilities in repelling the attack and emphasized that Qatar’s security is integral to the security of all GCC member states.
