Ankara: Turkish Foreign Ministry welcomed the ceasefire agreement reached between Hamas and Israel, expressing gratitude to the mediating countries, particularly Qatar and Egypt, for their efforts.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry stated: “We welcome the ceasefire agreement reached between Hamas and Israel,” emphasizing the importance of fully implementing all phases of the agreement, making the ceasefire permanent, and urgently delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry highlighted the necessity for the international community to ensure that Israel fulfills its responsibilities regarding these issues. It stressed that lasting peace and stability in the Middle East can only be achieved by bringing peace to Palestine and ending the injustice faced by the Palestinian people.
The Ministry further called for immediate commencement of peace negotiations to establish an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Turkiye reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in the future.
