Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced today that 88 people suspected of belonging to ISIS were arrested in a number of different provinces.
He said in a post on X that the arrest of the suspects took place in operations that have been ongoing for 5 days against ISIS in 23 provinces in coordination between the intelligence and counter-terrorism departments.
Turkish security services have recently escalated their campaigns against ISIS, which resulted in the arrest of dozens of its members, the deportation of others, and the prevention of many from entering Turkish territory.
ISIS carried out several attacks targeting Istanbul, the capital Ankara, and Turkish border cities, which resulted in a number of civilian casualties and injuries.
