Manama, Bahrain will host the prestigious International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Digital Skills Forum from September 17-19.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) will be hosting the forum, which will bring together global leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and training practitioners to discuss the critical role of digital skills in driving sustainable development.
Philip Marnick, General Director of TRA, emphasised the TRA’s commitment to driving digital transformation.
“Bahrain is committed to fostering a digital-first economy, and the ITU Digital Skills Forum aligns perfectly with our national priorities. By bringing together experts from around the world, we aim to help everyone develop the skills they need to succeed in the digital world,” Marnick said.
The three day forum features a comprehensive agenda focused on developing skills for digital transformation. Topics include bridging the digital divide, the impact of emerging technologies on skills, the green and digital transit
ion, skills for secure digital use, and industry perspectives on skills gaps. These sessions will provide valuable opportunities for industry professionals to discuss key digital skills issues, exchange insights, and build networks.
This flagship event for ITU members and partners provides a platform for discussing and creating solutions for the most pressing challenges surrounding the digital skills divide, including digital skills adoption. Representatives from ministries, regulatory authorities, telecommunications companies, national education bodies, and international and regional organisations, along with leading experts and researchers involved in digital skills development initiatives, are all invited to participate.
