The State of Qatar Participates in International Cybersecurity Forum in Riyadh

Riyadh, The State of Qatar participated in the activities of the International Cybersecurity Forum currently held in Riyadh.

HE Head of the National Cybersecurity Agency Eng. Abdul Rahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Maliki participated in a discussion session on stimulating the cybersecurity market through developing the ecosystem. He discussed the cost of cybersecurity, saying it was very high in securing systems and securing sites. He also discussed the need to develop appropriate plans and budgets to avoid risks, as the losses incurred by the cyber security entities in restoring their system are more than those incurred during the planning and budgeting stage.

He also spoke about the role of international cooperation in cybersecurity and the international challenges in this field in light of the lack of international laws that limit cybersecurity crimes, pointing to the efforts in the GCC that reached the establishment of a ministerial committee for cybersecurity concerned with a strategic view of the region in this field.

HE the President of the National Cybersecurity Agency reviewed the experience of the State of Qatar in securing the World Cup tournament (FIFA Qatar 2022), and the framework of cooperation in cybersecurity, where cooperation was made with a number of friendly countries in securing the World Cup tournament.
