Syria and Iran discussed relations of cooperation in the agricultural field, establishing investments and exchanging expertise.
This came during a meeting held on Wednesday between Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Mohamed Hassan Qatana and Iranian Ambassador in Damascus Dr. Hossein Akbari and the accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Eng. Qatana reviewed the projects proposed by the ministry upon the Investment Law, and the facilitations provided by it.
He also pointed out to the importance of cooperation in the agricultural scientific research domains, exchanging expertise and benefiting from the applied research in the two countries, stressing that preparations for holding the agricultural research conference are underway.
The Iranian Ambassador, in turn, referred to the necessity of expanding bilateral cooperation to serve the interest of the two countries, particularly in the investment and exchanging expertise and information domains, stressing the need to continue communication between the research centers in the two countries and investing all potentials to serve the two peoples.
He indicated that Iran has adopted a cross-border agricultural project as it established projects in Africa, Iraq and Latin America and it seeks to invest in Syria.
