Manama, Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board, held bilateral meetings, on the sidelines of participating in the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The meetings aimed at enhancing international cooperation in sustainable development and exchanging expertise and best practices to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Minister Alkhulaif met with Paula Narváez, the current President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). She congratulated her on the success of the High-Level Political Forum and praised the forum’s role in promoting international cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals amidst current global challenges.
Minister Alkhulaif additionally outlined Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the
continuous follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Minister also met with Dr. Said Mohammed Al-Saqri, Minister of Economy in the Sultanate of Oman. During the meeting, she congratulated him on presenting Oman’s Voluntary National Review on the progress in achieving sustainable development goals, and commended Oman’s commitment to accelerating the achievement of these goals and the efforts and initiatives undertaken in this regard.
Additionally, she highlighted the longstanding relations between Bahrain and Oman and their mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation in various fields, including sustainable development.
