Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of the Sudan Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Al Burhan affirmed that the Sudanese Armed Forces would support the Sudanese people’s choices and legitimate right to the rule of law, democracy and institutions.
The statement was carried by Sudan News Agency (SUNA) as Al Burhan was speaking on the occasion of the Sudanese Army Day. His speech stressed the importance of building a state of freedom, peace and justice that Sudanese youth aspire to achieve after national consensus, with a focus on overcoming the challenges and mistakes made before April 15, 2023.
He stressed the need to achieve a fair political formula that receives the support of the Sudanese people, and paves the way for national elections, pledging that the armed forces would be on the side of the Sudanese people, to carry on with their national duty to protect the land and continue the process of modernization and development.
