Sudanese Army Accepts Invitation to Resume Talks with RSF

Khartoum, - The general Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces agreed on Wednesday to resume talks with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Jeddah city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to further complete the negotiations and end the seven-month conflict.

In a statement, the office of the official spokesman of the Sudanese Armed Forces reported that it has been decided to respond to the invitation submitted by the mediation countries, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, to resume the negotiation process with what it called RFS rebel militia, in recognition of the fact that negotiation is one of the means that might end the war.

The statement outlined that the acceptance of the invitation to complete what had been agreed upon in Jeddah, hinges upon the implementation of the entire Jeddah declaration to streamline the humanitarian work, as well as return of citizens and natural life to the cities, pointing out that the resumption of the negotiations does not imply the cessation of military operations.

Elimination of rebels and crushing them are the objective of the Sudanese people and Sudanese Armed Forces, the statements read, adding that they are committed to that objective to get the nation back on correct track.
