Brasília, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, met Rodrigo Pacheco, President of the Federal Senate of Brazil, as part of the Bahraini parliamentary delegation’s official visit to Brazil.
The Speaker emphasised the commitment to enhancing bilateral parliamentary cooperation, particularly with the development of relations between the two countries, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Excellency Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Al Musallam said that the Kingdom provides an attractive environment for investors and business owners, which contributes to enhancing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, through supporting the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding.
The Speaker also emphasised the Council of Representatives’ commitment to consolidating the strategic partnership between the
two countries in all domains, particularly in legislation.
Furthermore, Al Musallam underscored Bahrain’s supportive stance of the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital. In this regard, he highlighted the importance of Bahrain’s initiative on hosting an international peace conference, to achieve just and sustainable peace and stability.
For his part, the President of the Federal Senate of Brazil affirmed that Bahrain is a vital partner for the Brazilian economy and investment, for its strategic location in the region, its strong ties with Brazil, its diverse investment opportunities, its stimulating legislative system, and its open societal culture.
President Pacheco affirmed Brazil’s supportive stance of the Palestinian cause and emphasised its commitment to achieve peace for the progress and prosperity in the region. Additionally, he lauded Bahrain’s initiatives through the 33rd Arab Summit.
He lauded Bahrain’s
parliamentary progress and its outstanding efforts in international parliamentary forums. President Pacheco affirmed his country’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and economy.
