Speaker: Council keen on further developing labour legislation


Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, said Bahrain took pride in the national working force across different sectors, affirming continued support for them.



The kingdom has a wealth of competencies who continue to exert sincere efforts to accomplish national achievements as part of Team Bahrain, within the framework of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Al Musallam said.



The Council of Representatives, in cooperation with the government, prioritises protecting employees’ rights, providing quality jobs to Bahraini citizens, and supporting the improvement of the Bahraini family’s living standards, he added.



The speaker underlined that enhancing the partnership and cooperation with the private sector will attract investment and will provide employment opportunities.



The council is keen to further develop labour-related legislation to further ensure preserving rights of all parties, protecting Bahraini employees, and providing opportunities for professional and training development and advancement, he said.



The Council of Representatives followed the outcome of the joint meetings and coordination that took place between the Labour Ministry and the management of Gulf Air Group Holding (GFG), and the agreement to reinstate who were affected by the decision to merge and restructure departments and to provide them with options, he added.



The Speaker had today met with a number of GFG employees.



They expressed their appreciation for the national role carried out by members of the Council of Representatives and for protecting the rights of employees and citizens
