Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, has affirmed the depth of the long-standing fraternal Bahraini-Egyptian relations, spanning over 5000 years, adding that bilateral ties have flourished thanks to support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, as well as the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and that of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt.
Speaker Al Musallam made the statements during the joint parliamentary discussions held between the two countries’ delegations at the premises of Egypt’s Senate.
Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam and his Egyptian Senate counterpart, Counselor Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq, co-chaired the session.
During the session, Al Musallam asserted that the 33rd Arab Summit, set to be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain on May 16, will augur a new era of joint Arab action and solidarity, as reflected in HM King Hama
d’s visit to Egypt and meeting with President El Sisi last week, noting that the two leaders had discussed the forthcoming Summit’s agenda.
He underlined the important role played by parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing the Bahraini-Egyptian cooperation across various development fields, and activating the memoranda of understanding and joint agreements, as well as bilateral initiatives and programmes to benefit both countries and their peoples.
Egyptian Senate Speaker commended the tremendous efforts being made by HM King Hamad to strengthen the Bahrain-Egypt cooperation, consolidate Arab solidarity, establish security and stability, support joint Arab action and defend just Arab causes.
He asserted that Bahrain’s wise foreign policy, which is based on moderation, balance, openness, positive interaction and constructive communication, as well as on extension of bridges of fraternity, friendship, cooperation and complementarity with other countries, is a pioneering model, as it supports Arab causes and pri
orities.
Speaker Abdel Razeq praised the fruitful outcomes of the official talks held last week between HM the King and President El Sisi, noting that they had focused on ways to bolster bilateral cooperation and enhance joint Arab action.
He affirmed Egypt’s keenness to strengthen cooperation and coordination with Bahrain, in a way that would serve common interests and open up wider horizons of complementarity across various fields and sectors.
He lauded the development strides made by the kingdom under the comprehensive development process, led by HM the King, praising the keenness of the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance bilateral relations, based on the solid fraternal ties between the two countries and their peoples.
Counselor Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq affirmed the keenness of Egypt’s Senate to enhance cooperation with Bahrain’s Representatives and Shura councils through exchanging expertise and coordinating stances at various parliamentary gatherings.
