Spain’s Ambassador Highlights Qatar’s Role in Peace and Stability on National Day

Doha: Spain’s Ambassador to Qatar, Alvaro Renedo Zalba, emphasized Qatar’s constructive role in promoting peace and stability in a statement marking Qatar’s National Day. The celebration commemorates the founding of the State by Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani in 1878, reflecting the leadership’s establishment of a unified, sovereign, and independent state.

According to Qatar News Agency, Ambassador Zalba extended heartfelt congratulations to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the leadership, and the people of Qatar, expressing wishes for continued progress, prosperity, and justice. He praised Qatar’s efforts at the regional and international levels and conveyed a message of friendship from Spain, reaffirming the commitment to deepen cooperation with Qatar based on mutual trust and understanding.

Ambassador Zalba noted that Qatar’s National Day embodies Qatari heritage and national identity, emphasizing unity and resilience. It also serves as a celebration for residents worldwide, including Spanish citizens, who join in appreciating Qatar’s achievements and its spirit of coexistence.

Highlighting Qatar’s diplomatic influence, he acknowledged its role as a mediator in international affairs and its commitment to dialogue and diplomacy. Spain supports Qatar’s efforts, sharing a belief in the importance of diplomacy, international law, and multilateralism in the global order. The ambassador emphasized the shared vision of both countries in engaging with the international community.
