Doha: Sidra Medicine, a member of Qatar Foundation, and Aman Hospital have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance healthcare collaboration for patients and families in Qatar.
According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU marks the beginning of a wider collaboration between Sidra Medicine and Aman Hospital to identify opportunities that support the evolving healthcare needs of patients and families in Qatar. The MoU includes agreements to bring together the expertise and capabilities of both organizations to enable coordinated care pathways, strengthen professional development, and facilitate the exchange of clinical and operational knowledge.
Prof. Ibrahim Janahi, Chief Medical Officer at Sidra Medicine, emphasized that the collaboration reflects their commitment to working closely with healthcare providers across Qatar to strengthen coordinated and patient-centered care. By uniting their expertise, they aim to support stronger care pathways, create opportunities for professional development and knowledge exchange, and enhance access to specialized services for patients and families.
Ms. Caroline Kielty, Chief Nursing Officer at Aman Hospital, stated that meaningful collaboration between healthcare institutions is essential to delivering seamless, high-quality care for patients and families. By combining their expertise and strengthening referral pathways, they aim to enhance the continuity and quality of care, confident that the collaboration will improve patient outcomes and advance professional practice.
A key focus of the MoU will be the development of stronger referral pathways between the two institutions, supporting timely patient transfer and continuity of care. The collaboration aims to connect patients and families with specialized services available at both Sidra Medicine and Aman Hospital.
The partnership will also offer opportunities for healthcare professionals to engage in clinical education, continuing professional development, simulation-based training, and other knowledge-sharing initiatives. Additionally, the two institutions will collaborate in laboratory and pathology services and other specialized clinical and operational areas.
Aman Hospital has also become the first private hospital to sign a separate Cord Blood Banking agreement with Sidra Medicine, allowing expectant parents delivering at Aman Hospital to store their baby's umbilical cord blood with Sidra Medicine. This process will be managed by Sidra Medicine, with samples stored at its specialized facility, Qatar's only Cord Blood Bank.
