Luanda, Hala Ramzi Fayez, Shura Council member, and International Parliamentary Union (IPU)’s Bureau of Women Parliamentarians member, has asserted that the growing political participation of Bahraini women will deepen their achievements, successes and contributions to the national action and development.
She pointed out that the sustainability of Bahraini women’s advancement reflects the care and support accorded to them by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
She expressed pride in the national initiatives and strategies aimed at opening up wider horizons for Bahraini women to consolidate their status and national role, paying tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King and Supreme Council for Women (SCW) President.
Hala Ramzi Fayez was speaking while chairing a panel discussion within the “Women Parliamentarian Forum”, held on the sidelines of the IPU’s 147th Assembly and related meetings, currently hosted by Angola.
The session was devoted to discussing a draft resolution submitted by IPU’s Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights on entitled “Orphanage trafficking: The role of parliaments in reducing harm”.
Addressing the panel discussion, Fayez indicated that Bahraini women, as effective members of the legislative branch, are keen to present legislative visions and initiatives aimed at consolidating the legal protection for all social groups, including orphans, who enjoy utmost care from official and private institutions.
