Doha: HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim met with a parliamentary delegation from the Turkmenistan-Qatar Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Parliament of the Republic of Turkmenistan. The delegation’s visit to the country was led by HE Chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Parliament Batyr Baylyyev.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Speaker welcomed the delegation, highlighting the Friendship Group’s role in enhancing parliamentary relations between Qatar and Turkmenistan. He expressed optimism that the visit would bolster cooperation between the two councils and serve Islamic parliamentary issues and the common interests of both countries.
The meeting included HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, HE Chairman of the Turkmenistan-Qatar Parliamentary Friendship Group Eng. Ahmad bin Hitmi Al Hitmi, and several other notable members of the Turkmenistan-Qatar Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Additionally, the parliamentary friendship groups from both countries convened to discuss ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation and exchange views on issues of mutual interest. The discussion focused on mechanisms to coordinate efforts supporting Islamic issues in various forums and fostering continuous communication between the councils for the benefit of both nations.
