SCH President receives SCD Bahrain Society

Manama, Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), received Zakaria Ibrahim Al Khadim, Secretary General of the Bahrain Society for Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), Dr. Jaffar Al Touq, Genetic Hematology Specialist, Director of the medical team for SCD patients in Salmanyia Medical Complex and Deputy Secretary-General of the Bahrain Society for SCD.

Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah commended the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for advancing medical services in the kingdom.

The SCH President congratulated the organisers of the nineth edition of the “Hamsat Amal” (Whisper of Hope) Festival, on its success in raising awareness of SCD.

For his part, Al Khadim thanked Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah for his support to the Society and its various efforts to raise awareness of SCD.

He affirmed the Society’s role in cooperating with offici
al entities to reach the Bahraini community.

Al Khadim reviewed the participation of the Society in local and international conferences concerned with awareness of blood diseases, in which the Society represented Bahrain.
