Riyadh, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah discussed, in a phone call today, with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, the latest developments in Gaza and its surroundings as well as the international efforts exerted in this regard, with an emphasis on the importance of stopping all forms of targeting civilians.
The Saudi Foreign Minister urged China, as a permanent member of the Security Council, to work to ensure that the Council fulfills its responsibility in maintaining international peace and security by pushing for an immediate cessation of military operations and lifting the siege on Gaza, stressing the importance of the Council’s work to implement its decisions regarding the Palestinian issue in a way that establishes a just, comprehensive and sustainable solution to the Palestinian cause and achieves the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people.
