Saudi Arabia, USA discuss Mideast peace efforts

Washington, Saudi Foreign Minister His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan met today, in Washington, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

They reviewed deep-rooted strategic relations binding the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the USA and ways of further bolstering joint cooperation and coordination.

They discussed regional and international issues of common interest, particularly security and stability in the Middle East and efforts to support peace in the region and the world.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that the meeting focused also on joint efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, as well efforts to stop the Houthis’ violations of Yemenis’ human rights.

The two sides stressed the importance of supporting efforts to stop Houthis’ continuous attacks on civil and economic facilities and threats to international maritime navigation.

They also discussed international negotiations regarding the Iranian nuclear programmes, highlighting the importance of maintaining security and stability in Afghanistan.
