Russia: Russia's Foreign Ministry on Thursday warned that any renewed escalation in the Strait of Hormuz could disrupt global energy markets and threaten supply security. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova highlighted the potential risks associated with disruptions in one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints.

According to Qatar News Agency, Zakharova noted that shipping traffic through the strait had previously fallen by 95 percent during peak tensions, resulting in a significant rise in Brent crude prices to approximately USD 120 per barrel. This price spike eventually declined to around USD 86, reflecting the volatility tied to geopolitical developments in the region.

Zakharova emphasized that renewed tensions, especially with the approach of the heating season, might exacerbate global supply pressures. She reiterated Moscow's commitment to its cooperation with OPEC+ in efforts to maintain oil market stability and energy security, underscoring the importance of international collaboration in managing potential disruptions.
