Russia Targets Military Airport in Western Ukraine

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced Sunday that it had launched a successful air strike on a military airport in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast in western Ukraine.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry report on the progress of the military operation in Ukraine, the Russian armed forces carried out an intense strike with long-range air-based high-precision weapons near the town of Kolomyia in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The report added that the strike achieved its goal, and all the sites to be targeted were hit.

The report also noted that the Ukrainian losses on the frontlines amounted to nearly 475 soldiers, and that 29 drones were shot down.

It revealed that the total equipment destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation on February 24, 2022 include: 458 aircraft, 245 helicopters, 5,683 drones, 429 anti-aircraft missile systems, 11,249 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,444 rocket launchers, 5,853 pieces of field artillery and mortars, and 12,189 special military vehicles.
