Moscow: Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its forces carried out a large-scale strike last night on facilities belonging to the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, along with metallurgical and oil refining industries and ports in a number of Ukrainian cities and regions.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry stated that the attack was conducted using long-range precision weapons launched from land, air, and sea, alongside attack drones. The strikes targeted facilities in the capital Kyiv, as well as Boryspil, Zaporizhia, Kremenchuk, Krivoy Rog, and Ilyichovka.
In a related development, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that its air defense systems had shot down 267 Ukrainian drones over various regions of the country overnight.
These strikes occur amid an ongoing exchange of attacks between Russia and Ukraine, increasingly targeting energy and infrastructure facilities, military sites, and ports. The conflict between the two countries has persisted since February 2022, while diplomatic efforts to reach a settlement remain stalled.
