RHF, Turkish Red Crescent sign MoU to support quake-affected people

The Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) and Turkish Red Crescent today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck several provinces in Türkiye.

RHF Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Committee for Supporting Earthquake Victims in Syria and Türkiye, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed Al-Ameen, and Director-General of the Turkish Red Crescent, Ibrahim Altan, signed the MoU, in the presence of the Bahraini Ambassador to Türkiye, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Abdulla.

Commenting, Dr. Al-Sayed indicated that in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the RHF and the National Committee for Supporting Earthquake Victims in Syria and Türkiye, led by HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, will deliver humanitarian assistance and relief projects to mitigate the effects of the earthquake that struck Türkiye.

He affirmed that Bahrain will continue standing by the Turkish people, based on the friendship relations between the two countries, the teachings of the Islamic religion and the deep-rooted Arab traditions of helping brothers, friends and the afflicted in the various humanitarian circumstances they are going through.

Director-General of the Turkish Red Crescent lauded HM the King’s initiative and humanitarian stances towards the Turkish people during the devastating quake that had hit it, praising the humanitarian initiative of the kingdom’s leadership, government and people.

He also emphasised the depth of the Bahraini-Turkish relations, commending Bahrain’s relief and humanitarian projects.

He indicated that the MoU adds to the efforts exerted by Bahrain to support the victims of the earthquake, noting that it will contribute to alleviating the sufferings of those affected by it.

The Bahraini Ambassador expressed pride in the ongoing cooperation between the RHF and the Turkish Red Crescent, asserting that the MoU will enhance cooperation between the two countries and consolidate the humanitarian and relief efforts to assist the victims.
