Repeated killings…the security vacuum threatens the spread of chaos in Gaza

Gaza – Together Report – The killing of three citizens in a major quarrel in Deir al-Balah that broke out at the hands of unknown gunmen, in addition to the killing of the leader of the Al-Aqsa Brigades, Mahmoud, raised fears of an Israeli exploitation of the security vacuum and fueling internal disputes for its own interests.

There are no clear statistics on the number of deaths in the Gaza Strip as a result of criminal crimes, but they are repeated from time to time, as happened three weeks ago with a legal advisor in Deir al-Balah, who was killed by gunmen for no clear reasons.

The Hamas movement tried to control some of the thieves by shooting them in the legs in light of the inability of its security forces to arrest them in light of the absence of prisons and the occupation planes killing every police officer who moved, and also assassinating officials in the Ministry of Interior.

Theft cases are widespread in light of extreme poverty and irregular aid in various areas of the Gaza Strip. The most dan
gerous are issues of revenge and settling scores between people.

The Gaza Interior Ministry was forced to release prisoners with high sentences in light of the destruction of prisons and the displacement of hundreds of thousands from their areas.

Israel is working to establish local bodies to cooperate with it, but the strength of the Hamas movement and the refusal of many families to do so have thwarted Israel’s plans.
