Referee Assignments Announced for Gulf Cup Semi-Finals

Jeddah:The Referees Committee of the Gulf Football Federation has revealed the referee appointments for the semi-final matches of the 27th Gulf Cup, currently hosted in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, until October 6.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Saudi Arabia vs Qatar match at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium will be officiated by Portuguese referee Joo Pinheiro, with assistance from his fellow countrymen Pedro Ribeiro and Luciano Maia. Bahrain's Ammar Mahfoodh will take on the role of fourth official, and Mohammed Jaafar Salman will serve as the fifth official.

In the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team for this match, China's Fu Ming has been appointed as VAR, with Kuwait's Abdullah Arab as Assistant VAR. The UAE's Hamad Al Mazrouei will act as referee assessor.

The second semi-final, featuring the United Arab Emirates against Oman at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium, will see Dutch referee Danny Makkelie in charge. He will be assisted by his compatriots Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries. Iraq's Zaid Thamer will be the fourth official, with Haider Abdulhassan as the fifth official.

For this match's VAR team, Erwin Blank from the Netherlands will serve as VAR, with Bahrain's Ismail Habib as Assistant VAR, while Saudi Arabia's Abdulrahman Al Omari will be the referee assessor.
