Jeddah: The Red Sea Film Foundation announced Monday the postponement of the 6th edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival, originally scheduled for December 3-12 in Jeddah, to the fourth quarter of 2027.

According to Qatar News Agency, the foundation stated the decision follows a comprehensive review of logistical requirements and timing to ensure an optimal experience. The delay reflects a commitment to building on past successes and enhancing the festival's global status, returning in 2027 with a renewed vision.

Year-round support for filmmakers will continue through the Red Sea Fund and Red Sea Labs. Additionally, year-round programming will launch this November at Culture Square in Historic Jeddah as a permanent venue for screenings and cultural events.

Founded in 2019, the festival held its inaugural edition in December 2021 and moved to its permanent home in Historic Jeddah in 2024.
