“It is very important to have these kind of clubs that nurture talent by giving them resources and workshop opportunities such as this. I’m very proud of QU students and their enthusiasm about writing in the literary world. I’m sure we will see great new talents emerging soon in the cultural scene in Qatar and I wish them all the best,” said Kummam.
Mohammed Amjad Abdushakkoor, QU Writer’s Club President, commented on the event, “Author Kummam Al Maadeed provided an interesting workshop that was helpful to me and other students who attended the event. She started by introducing the attendees to storytelling fundamentals. Then, she moved on to why authors should maintain a great mental state. Her take on researching and building fictional worlds was very insightful and engaging.”
Abdushakkoor adds, “The students were allowed to ask questions during the session which cleared the doubts regarding the topics. The session ended with a discussion session regarding editing and publishing. Overall, this was a helpful workshop and, on behalf of the QU Writer’s Club, we thank Kummam for helping the club members with her experience in the world of fantasy writing.”
