QU ESPORTS CLUB HOLDS VIRTUAL TALK

Qatar University (QU) eSports Club organised recently a virtual event via Microsoft Teams, titled eSports Talk #4: With Khalifa Haroon (Mr. Q).

The aim of the event was to ask a professional business owner about the journey starting up his career as a content creator as well as a community figure. This event showed students what are some of the steps that can be taken to having a higher chance of success in the eSports and gaming industry.

Syed Hamad Abbas, President of the QU eSports Club said, “It was our pleasure to have Mr. Khalifa as a guest to our podcast series. He shared with us his most cherished moments, about how he viewed an opportunity to set up a business for the gaming community, as well as how he was able to take advantage of the rapidly increasing interest in tech and gaming.”

He also added, “He was very enthusiastic about growing the community, and we as QU eSports Club are looking to support that vision as much as possible to put Qatar on the map of eSports. A collaboration would be a great way to supplement that journey.”

During the event Mr. Khalifa Haroon, founder of Store974 and ILoveQatar advised the QU eSports Club to aim for community growth, and that the Club has a responsibility to show its members and audience the different paths that can be chosen in the gaming and eSports industry. This would be followed by helping them choose the path most suitable for them. Mr. Khalifa also described how Store974 is aiming to continue its growth as a business, and how the Qatar eSports Federation is setting the vision for eSports in Qatar.

The eSports club at Qatar University has a vision to make competitive eSports more popular within Qatar and the MENA region. This event was hosted by the President of the QU eSports Club, Syed Hamad Abbas.
