Istanbul: Qatar University (QU) has entered into a partnership with the Manuscript House (Dar al-Makhtutat) – Sultan Ahmet Waqf in Istanbul, aiming to bolster cooperative efforts in academic and scientific endeavors.
According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement was formalized by Dr. Ibrahim Al Ansari, Dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at QU, and Prof. Mahmoud Masri, Director of the Manuscript House in Istanbul, with several officials from both institutions present at the signing ceremony.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) focuses on strengthening collaboration in executing joint projects in various domains related to manuscript and printed heritage. This includes activities such as collection, preservation, restoration, imaging, digitization, accessibility, and cataloging. Both parties will have priority in participating in these projects, which also encompass the publication of critical heritage texts and the exchange of digitized manuscript images under the regulations and policies of both organizations.
Additionally, the MoU outlines cooperation in organizing activities related to heritage services, and it addresses the provision of consultations and sharing of expertise in multiple areas linked to manuscripts and heritage work.
