QSE Index Edges Lower at Market Open

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index edged down 0.16% at the start of trading on Monday, losing 17.96 points to 10,912.00 compared to the previous session close.

According to Qatar News Agency, the market was weighed down by declines across five sectors, led by Transportation (-0.44%), followed by Banks and Financial Services (-0.29%), Consumer Goods and Services (-0.22%), Telecommunications (-0.11%), and Real Estate (-0.08%).

Meanwhile, the index recorded gains in two sectors: Insurance (+0.18%) and Industrials (+0.06%).

By 10:00 am, QSE reported a turnover of QR 61.44 million, with 29.14 million shares traded across 2,664 transactions.
