qQatar 1812 KM Race Removed from 2026 FIA World Endurance Championships

Doha: The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and Lusail International Circuit have announced the cancellation of the Qatar 1812 KM round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), originally scheduled for October 22 to 24, following a decision by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

According to Qatar News Agency, Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai, President of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation and Chairman of Lusail International Circuit, stated that the federation respects the decision made by the FIA World Endurance Championship and the FIA to cancel this year's Qatar 1812 KM race. He emphasized Qatar's unwavering commitment to its partnership with both organizations and expressed optimism about collaborating closely to host an exceptional event when the championship returns to Lusail International Circuit.

Frederic Lequien, Chief Executive Officer of the FIA World Endurance Championship, noted that the federation and the championship maintained close communication with Lusail International Circuit and the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation throughout the decision-making process. He underscored the strong and enduring relationship between the parties and affirmed that the Qatar 1812 KM is a significant and established event on the FIA World Endurance Championship calendar, with plans for its return in the future.
