qPrime Minister Engages in GCC Foreign Ministers’ Virtual Consultative Meeting

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani participated on Tuesday in a consultative meeting held by Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states via videoconferencing. The meeting facilitated an exchange of views on current developments, ongoing negotiations, and efforts to reach practical understandings aimed at reducing tensions and enhancing regional security and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting also focused on intensifying coordination and consultation among GCC states concerning safety and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Discussions included ensuring the rights of passage and transit, as well as maintaining the smooth flow of ships, trade, and supplies in accordance with international law, while respecting the sovereign rights of all states bordering the Gulf waters.

During the discussions, the Ministers underscored the importance of sustained joint action, emphasizing political and diplomatic solutions. They also highlighted the need to create conditions favorable for building trust and achieving solutions acceptable to all parties involved.
