QGI Reports QR 67.5 Million in Net Profit

Doha, July 25 (QNA) – Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company disclosed on Wednesday the semiannual financial statements for the period ending June 30, 2012.
 The reviewed financial statements for the period ending June 30, 2012 revealed a net profit of QR 67.5 million in comparison to QR 76.2 million for the same period last year, the company said in a statement published on the (Qatar Exchange) Website.
 The company s Earning per Share (EPS) amounted to QR 1.35 as of June 30, 2012 versus QR 1.52 for the corresponding period in 2011.
 Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company was founded as a shareholding company in 1979 and underwrites all classes of insurance.
 Its main areas of operation are energy, motor, construction and fire. The Company provides insurance cover for companies operating in the oil and gas industries, and most of its business is in the energy sector, including marine cover. (QNA)
