QFA Launches Training Camp to Prepare Referees for Upcoming Season

Doha: The Refereeing Department of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced its plan to conduct a domestic training camp for referee assessors and promising referees from August 25 to 29, as a preparatory step for the youth competitions of the 2026-27 sports season.

According to Qatar News Agency, the camp aims to enhance the readiness of promising referees by focusing on various aspects of their development. Through preparation, monitoring, and continuous assessment programs, the initiative seeks to improve their capabilities, thus contributing to the advancement of the refereeing system in youth competitions.

Additionally, the Refereeing Department will conduct a meeting on August 27 with officials and representatives of clubs' youth teams. This meeting will include heads of departments, team managers, coaches, administrators, and players. The agenda will cover the latest amendments to the Laws of the Game, which will be implemented during the 2026-27 season, and provide an opportunity for club representatives to ask questions.

This initiative is part of the Refereeing Department and Referees Committee's commitment to fostering communication and partnership with clubs. The aim is to exchange views and develop the refereeing system to achieve optimal results. The meeting will also discuss organizing future workshops for clubs' technical and administrative staff. These workshops will focus on explaining the Laws of the Game, their application, and promoting cooperation between referees and players to enhance sportsmanship on the field.
