Doha:Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), established by Qatar Foundation, has successfully concluded the seventh edition of Career Village, marking it as the largest interactive career exploration event in the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, the event was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Labor, and the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau. Hosted over three days at KidZania Doha, the event saw participation from more than 3,240 male and female students representing 160 public, private, and international schools, as well as 40 organizations from both public and private sectors across 13 key economic sectors in Qatar.
The event provided a platform for over 230 academic and career counselors, along with educators, to engage with sector representatives. This interaction focused on sharing insights on career guidance, training, volunteering, and job-shadowing programs, all aimed at assisting students in exploring future career paths.
Saad Abdulla Al Kharji, Executive Director of QCDC, emphasized the importance of firsthand experience for students to understand their career interests and the professional requirements of appealing fields. He highlighted that collaborations with government and employer partners are crucial in connecting students' career aspirations with Qatar's demand for skilled professionals.
Ibrahim Abdullah Al Muhannadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, underlined the event's role in providing students with practical exposure to various workplace environments. He reiterated the Ministry's dedication to aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs in support of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Yaqoub Saleh Al Ishaq, Director of Civil Service Affairs at the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, noted the importance of early preparation of national talent by assisting students in making informed academic and career decisions. He stated that the Bureau's involvement as a strategic partner reflects its commitment to linking educational choices with scholarship plans and meeting the country's current and future employment requirements.
