Doha: HE the Attorney General Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi ordered an investigation into allegations involving the forgery of official documents and damage to public funds.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Public Prosecution announced that it had initiated an investigation following a complaint from the Ministry of Interior against a female Qatari suspect. The investigation uncovered that she allegedly collaborated with individuals outside Qatar to issue forged medical leave certificates, falsely linked to Hamad Medical Corporation. These certificates were reportedly used by several Qatari suspects to secure leave from government entities.
The statement further revealed that the suspect had agreed with external associates to distribute additional forged medical leave certificates to other suspects, including students and employees of various government bodies, in exchange for money transferred to her bank account. The implicated individuals allegedly used the fraudulent certificates to obtain leave from government entities without rightful claims, fully aware of the forgeries.
The Public Prosecution confirmed that the investigation is ongoing as it continues to follow the required legal procedures concerning the case.
Additionally, it called upon all entities to verify the authenticity of medical leave certificates presented to them and to report any suspected forgeries to facilitate appropriate legal action.
