Doha:The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is preparing to unveil a new website for the Official Gazette and the Al-Meezan Legal Portal this Sunday. This initiative marks the introduction of Qatar's first AI-powered comprehensive national system for legal knowledge.
According to Qatar News Agency, the platform will offer legal information in both Arabic and English. It features advanced search and categorization tools designed to simplify access to and understanding of the laws.
The ministry has clarified that while AI tools will be utilized, they are indicative only and do not replace the official legal texts, which remain the sole approved reference.
In a bid to enhance transparency and community engagement, the portal will allow visitors and specialists to comment on legislative processes and make recommendations on draft laws. This participatory approach aims to support the development of legislation that aligns with societal transformations.
Economically, the platform seeks to fortify the business environment and investment landscape in Qatar by providing precise and reliable legal information to local and international investors. The goal is to reduce time and effort for investors, thereby increasing their confidence and enhancing Qatar's appeal as an investment destination.
The project is a collaborative effort involving the MoJ, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the National Planning Council, the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, and the Council of Ministers Secretariat General.
This initiative is part of the MoJ's Strategic Plan 2025-2030 and is aligned with Qatar's digital agenda under the Qatar National Vision 2030.
