Doha:Qatar's 3x3 basketball team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, after defeating Bahrain 21-15 in its final group-stage match in Japan.
According to Qatar News Agency, this victory marked Qatar's third win in Group C. The team began its campaign with a 10-7 victory over Indonesia, followed by an 18-15 win over Chinese Taipei, before concluding the group stage with a decisive win against Bahrain.
Qatar's strong performance in the group stage has set the stage for their continued pursuit of top positions and a potential medal in the tournament.
In the women's competition, Qatar's team ended its group-stage campaign with a 17-8 loss to Kazakhstan. Qatar's women's team was placed in Group A along with China, Kazakhstan, and Sri Lanka.
