Qatari Skydive Team Win Bronze Medal in CISM World

The Qatar Skydive Team of the Qatar Air Sports Committee of the Joint Special Forces won the bronze medal in the CISM World Military Parachuting Championship after they had been ranked third in this tournament, held in the Republic of Hungary, during Ju. 2-12 with the participation of 33 countries.

The Qatari squad was ranked third in skydiving, behind Belgium which ranked first and won the gold medal, followed by US in the second place, earning silver medals.

The Qatari national team participated in both the quadruple cohesion and target teams, achieving third place and winning the bronze medal after intense competition from all participating teams in the world championship, which witnessed the presence of elite skydivers from around the globe.

HE Commander of the Joint Special Forces, President of the Qatar Air Sports Committee Maj. Gen. Jassim bin Ali Al Attiyah lauded the great accomplishments made by the Qatari team in this global tournament, affirming that the champions of air sports are always accus
tomed to occupying coronation platforms, from one championship to another, with rising ambitions who always look forward to the best.

His Excellency added that the milestones in the air sports have been achieved by virtue of the unwavering support from the wise leadership which has been significantly contributing to promoting the air sports, culminating in the team’s winning of medals on the coronation platform, In concluding his remarks, HE Al Attiyah congratulated the team, affirming that he looks forward to further achievements in the coming tournaments.

Since 2008, air sports have achieved significant success in a brief period, particularly through participation in numerous continental and global parachuting championships and garnered multiple titles consecutively, with the team achieving a historic milestone by entering the Guinness World Records for the largest night formation canopy relative work.

Vice Chairperson of the QASC Lt. Col. Abdullah Saeed Al Mansouri said he was so delighted for this mile
stone which came following a fierce competition among the participants for the first places, emphasizing that such a milestone was achieved thanks to the big support the team are receiving, along with their perseverance and determination to hold the Qatari flag aloft in this top-notch championship.

Secretary-General of QASC Captain Haza’a Hamad Al Attiyah, expressed his happiness for this great milestone after an extremely strong contest, adding that the technical level was so high to achieve the victory and created suspense during all days of the tournament. He added that the team look for the best.

Captain and leader of the cohesion quadruple parachuting team First Lieutenant Hamad Al Marri, said the desire among the skydivers to achieve first place and win the gold medal was extraordinarily strong, but they couldn’t achieve that due to extremely fierce competition.

Overall, he added, securing third place was a significant achievement, considering the presence of elite skydivers from around the world. Th
e team performed excellently, and winning the bronze medal serves as motivation to strive for improvement and perform better in future championships.
