Nagoya:HE President of the Olympic Council of Asia and President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani celebrated the achievements of Qatari riders at a ceremony held at Qatar House.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ceremony recognized riders Faleh Al Ajami and Bassem Mohammed for their performances in the individual show jumping competition at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya 2026. Al Ajami secured a gold medal while Mohammed earned a bronze.
Attendees included HE QOC First Vice President Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana, HE QOC Secretary General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, and various members of the Qatari delegation. The riders' successes contributed two medals to Qatar's overall tally on the final day of the Games.
In addition to the athletes, the ceremony honored the administrative team for their organizational and support roles during the Games. The Qatar House team was also acknowledged for their efforts in promoting Qatari culture and hosting events throughout the competition.
Qatar concluded the Games with a total of 18 medals, comprising six gold, six silver, and six bronze, marking a strong performance in the competition.
