Doha: The political and diplomatic movement led by the State of Qatar to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip dominated Qatari newspapers commentaries on Friday.

The Qatari dailies highlighted the talks HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held with HE US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, the occupied Palestinian territories and Lebanon.

The newspapers emphasized that the Qatari diplomatic efforts in support of regional and international efforts aimed at stopping the genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people and reducing escalation in the region affirm Qatar’s crucial roles in resolving conflicts around the world and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.

In its editorial entitled “Qatari Mediation… New Movement to Support Negotiations,” Al-Sharq said that HH the Amir’s discussions with the US Secretary of State stemmed from the pivotal role carried out by His Highness and the State of Qatar, within t
he framework of the joint mediation with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, address the catastrophic humanitarian crisis, and reduce escalation.

Doha, which has become a capital of mediation and conflict resolution, is preparing again to achieve a breakthrough in the negotiations to realize a ceasefire in Gaza and return the hostages. This effort comes within the framework of the intensive diplomatic efforts made by the Qatari mediation to protect the innocent and civilians, stop the war, establish peace, and find a sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue in a way that ensures stability in the region, Al-Sharq said.

Under the headline “Continuing Qatari Efforts to Stop the War,” Al-Arab highlighted the emphasis of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, during his meeting with Blinken, on the necessity of putting an end to the attacks and providing protection for civilians in the northern Ga
za Strip, and reducing the escalation in Lebanon.

The Qatari efforts continue at the highest levels with various officials in the region and the world in order to coordinate on the dangerous developments in the Gaza Strip. Doha has not missed any opportunity without strongly expressing its firm position towards the Palestinian cause, Al-Arab stressed.
